Per un attimo avevamo pensato veramente che Lemmy potesse essere immortale. Evidentemente, il cancro, non la pensava come noi e ieri notte il leggendario bassista si è spento per sempre.
Solo tre giorni fa, il leader dei MOTÖRHEAD, 70 anni compiuti da poco, aveva appreso la triste verità sulla sua malattia ma fino all’ultimo ha combattuto, dapprima contro un’infezione ai polmoni che lo aveva costretto a cancellare show in America, poi contro il diabete, un ematoma e un defibrillatore impiantatogli nel petto. Contro il parere medico, il re del rock era salito ugualmente sul palco perché come diceva lui: “Non vedo perché ci dovrebbe essere un momento in cui tutti decidono che sei troppo vecchio. Io non sono troppo vecchio e, finché non deciderò di esserlo, non sarò un cazzo di vecchio!”.
I primi ad annunciare la triste notizia sono stati i MOTÖRHEAD, seguiti da Ozzy Osbourne.
Il gruppo ha inoltre creato una pagina Facebook per dare l’addio allo storico frontman, mentre il mondo può vedere Lemmy in azione per l’ultima volta al concerto dei MOTÖRHEAD, tenutosi a Berlino qualche settimana fa per il 40esimo anniversario della band.
