Il cantante degli SLIPKNOT, Corey Taylor, nega che la nuova canzone “The Negative One” parli dell’ex batterista Joey Jordison.
Con il testo “The Lord Of Lies / You Had To Be Set Free / Opposing Sides / Your Choices Are The Negative One And Me,” i fan hanno pensato che “The Negative One” fosse stata scritta su Jordison a cui è stato assegnato il numero “1” nella formazione della band.
“Io non ci ho neanche fatto caso! La gente sta fuori!” Taylor ha detto a Metal Hammer UK.
“La gente ha proprio bisogno di staccare la spina ogni tanto; ho anche sentito delle cazzate riguardo al video, come se c’entrasse Joey, ma fa troppo ridere!”
Alla domanda se “The Negative One” fosse riferita ad una persona in particolare:
“Le cose stanno così, l’album è una storia in nessun particolare ordine; salta da una parte all’altra, ma è la storia degli ultimi 4 anni di questa band, dal momento in cui Paul è morto al momento in cui siamo entrati in studio. Quindi ci sono alcune canzoni che hanno a che fare con la tensione e la negatività che c’è dentro di noi. Non c’entra Joey in particolare.
‘The Negative One’ parla di me, non di Joey..ed è per quello che la canzone dice ‘Your choices are the negative one and me’. Stessa cosa per ‘The Devil In I’.
